Position Statements on the Use of Biosimilars in the Ministry of Health, Malaysia Healthcare Facilities

The increasing use of biological medicines including biosimilars in the Ministry of Health (MOH), Malaysia facilities warrants a suitable guidance document to ensure safe and appropriate prescribing and dispensing practices.  

This position statement acts as a guidance to the use and handling of biosimilars in healthcare facilities under the purview of the Ministry of Health (MOH), Malaysia. It should also be read along with the Guidance Document and Guidelines for Registration of Biosimilars in Malaysia, 2008. This position statement covers the principles and practical issues around biosimilar use as well as the requirement for ongoing pharmacovigilance and outcome monitoring.
