Pharmacy Research Priorities in Malaysia

The Pharmacy Research Priorities in Malaysia aspires to provide clear guidance for pharmacy research activities towards generation of useful evidence that is relevant to the national health priorities. Setting the priorities for pharmacy research is absolutely crucial to streamline research activities, bridge knowledge gaps, maximise resources and to support the development of new policies. Five research priority domains and a number of research scopes / areas have been identified. The domains are:
- Access to Medicines
- Monitoring and Evaluation of Outcomes
- Quality and Safe Use of Medicine and Sustainability
- Optimisation of Therapy and Pharmacy Services Delivery
- National Databases / Big Data Analytics
These research priorities are applicable to all institutions that conduct pharmacy researches in Malaysia. Therefore, researchers and healthcare organisations are encouraged to refer to the outlined research priorities when planning and designing their researches.
