Roles / Functions

The functions of the Pharmacy Board as defined under the Registration of Pharmacists (Amended) Act 1997 include:-

  1. Registration of Pharmacists
  2. Removal of Pharmacists from the Register
  3. Registration of Bodies Corporate
  4. Removal of Bodies Corporate from the Register
  5. Registration of Pupil Pharmacists
  6. Carrying out an inquiry on unethical practices and at the conclusion of the inquiry may impose appropriate punishments.

Five committees were established to facilitate and assist the Board to accomplish its functions viz.

  1. Preliminary Inquiry Committee
  2. Evaluation Committee
  3. Forensic Examination Committee
  4. Training Committee
  5. Ethics Committee
