The chart below shows the various stages involved in the processing of an application to advertise a product or service.

** FAST TRACK CRITERIA;

1. Advertisements that have been approved earlier. (The current application should have either no changes or minimal changes from the approved version), or

2. Applications coming up for renewal, or

3. New applications that do not go beyond the list of indications as approved by Drug Control Authority. The format of the advertisement also stays well within the framework set by the Act and guidelines.

Medicine Advertisement Board Meeting Date & Closing Date for Submission

Note:

1. All applications must reach the Board by 5 pm on the date specified.

2. Application submitted after the closing date will be considered in the subsequent meeting.

3. Members of the Board will the decide the meeting date.

Code for Advertising Media

Upon approval the Medicine Advertisement Board allocates an approval number that must be published together with the advertisement.

e.g. for an advertisement approved in January 2004, the following number may be issued; KKLIU 2004/123/A

The alphabet A is the code for newspaper.
